Welcome to Alive Student Ministries! We are honored to be a part of your life as we pursue Christ and the calling He has placed on each one of our lives. The heart behind Alive Student Ministries is that each one of us would have our ears and eyes opened to what God is speaking and doing in the world around us. We believe God is doing a mighty work in this generation and my prayer is that we would tune in together and be the church He is calling us to be. "Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light." (Romans 13:11-12 ESV) We look forward to partnering with you as we cast off darkness and shine the light of Christ wherever we go!
When our team sits down and evaluates how ministry is going, there are a few categories that we think through:
Community is a beautiful thing that God has created. We hope that every student that attends Alive will meet new people, make friends, and get plugged into a small group. It is these connections that keep us involved, focused, and accountable in our walk with God. We also want to create a culture of fun where friends can have a blast hanging out.
We are all building our lives on something. Jesus, in Matthew 7, paints a picture of building a house on the rock vs. building a house on the sand. Our hope at Alive is to take a deep look at where each one of us builds. As we read the Word of God together, He reveals what foundation we truly stand on and redirects us to the foundation we have in Christ. As a student ministry, our prayer is that during the years we grow together, we would allow the Lord to search our hearts, shake our foundations and lead us into building on the rock. Each week that we meet we spend time in the Word, in Worship, and in Prayer. We believe that these are foundational pillars in our journey with God.
Our future heavily depends upon the decisions we make today. We believe that part of our role in our students lives is to help them see a vision of what their life can be with Christ. What if we chose Him today? What if we surrendered our lives? What if we stepped into His calling? What if we trusted His provision? What if...This can be an exciting thing to dream about together. In Philippians 1 Paul is writing to group of close friends in the faith and he states "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ." The same is true for the future of each of our students. Amen!
