Nationally, for every 100 churches that are planted, there are one million people to reach. Washington State ranks as the 49th least churched state in the U.S. More than 100 million Americans have not attended a church in the past 6 months.
“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” –Matthew 9:37-38. Church multiplication is more than just starting new churches. It's about impacting a region. God knows each city, each neighborhood and each individual, and He has uniquely gifted specific people to plant churches that invade these communities with the Good News. The more churches, the deeper the impact, and greater the opportunity to reach people where they are.
New Life wants to equip men and women who are catalytic leaders and have a history of loving God and loving others, whose lives are marked by healthy relationships, and whose hearts are stirred by the lost condition of those around them.
In 1906, there were 27 churches for every 10,000 people.
In 1986, there were 11.
In 2010, Snohomish County had 2 churches for every 10,000 people.
Some may look at these numbers and feel overwhelmed or discouraged, but Jesus saw it another way. There are three ways that New Life prepares people to launch successful churches and campuses:1) Coaching - New church planters have the opportunity to be trained by coaches with church planting experience. This training is a 9-month program that includes three weekend intensives, books, and one-on-one coaching intended to prepare you to plant a church.
2) Shadowing - Shadowing is for both Church Planters and Campus Pastors. Shadowers will work with someone else’s church for about 6 months as they learn about church planting. The shadowers will eventually leave and plant churches of their own. Those interested in shadowing should fill out a Church Plant Shadowing application.
3) Apprenticeships - New Life has a church plant/site campus apprenticeship program where a church planter/campus pastor is invited to become a part of the ministry team at New Life for about 6 months as they build their own team and prepare to launch their new church.
